Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive slated for May 14

The National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association are partnering with Loaves & Fishes Community Services during the 30th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 14.

Naperville residents are encouraged to place healthy, unexpired, nonperishable items in bags by their mailboxes on May 14 to be picked up by postal carriers and Loaves & Fishes volunteers. During the last Naperville Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive in 2019, 86,000 pounds of food were collected.

According to Loaves & Fishes officials, food pantries have seen a tremendous increase in need due to the increase in prices for food, gas and other basic necessities.

"Last week, Loaves & Fishes served over 5,200 people," Mike Havala, president and CEO of Loaves & Fishes, said in a statement. "This is 60% higher than we served in the beginning of 2022."
