Tickets still available for Arlington Hts. prayer breakfast

District 214 School Board president and community leader Bill Dussling will give the keynote address at the Arlington Heights Mayor's 35th Annual Community Prayer Breakfast.

The event, which was rescheduled from February, will be held from 7-9 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Doubletree Hotel, 75 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights. The program also includes scripture readings and music by the Glory House Praise Singers/Band.

Dussling is a 43-year resident of Arlington Heights and a faithful attendee at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast. He is a member and lector at St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Dussling was a volunteer at Frontier Days for many years, and spent years coaching in the Arlington Heights Youth Basketball Program.

He has been a member of the Township High School District 214 Board of Education for 24 years, serving repeatedly as vice president and president. He is currently board president.

As a board member, Dussling has been recognized with the National School Boards Association's Distinguished Service Award, the Illinois State Board of Education's Award of Excellence, the National Journalism Association's "Friend of Scholastic Journalism" award, the Illinois Directors of Student Activities Award for support of student activities and named District 214's Friend of the Arts.

Dussling is a proud Vietnam veteran helicopter pilot and has extensive work experience in human resources and labor relations. He has three children who are graduates of Buffalo Grove High School.

In addition to the keynote address, prayers and scripture readings will be offered by Glory House Ministries International Bishop Joe Kamanda, Arlington Heights village Trustee Robin LaBedz, Dianna Ehrenfried of Visual Edge Creative Services, Inc., and the Rev. Micah Greiner of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Mayor Tom Hayes will welcome participants. Jon Ridler, executive director of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, is the emcee.

Lutheran Life Communities is the main sponsoring organization. Additional sponsors are James J. Bertucci, CFP, financial adviser, and Charles Frankiewicz.

Tickets purchased earlier for the February event will be honored. Tickets are still available at $20 per person for the live event and $10 for virtual participation and may be ordered and paid for online at bit.ly/PrayerBreakfast2022.
