Fake jewelry sold in Aurora scam
The Aurora Police Department warned residents about a group of scammers attempting to sell fake jewelry.
Police reported numerous calls about people going door to door on the 700 block of Sheldon Avenue and the 800 block of Foran Lane. The scammers claimed that they were in an emergency and needed to sell their jewelry.
The scammers are Hispanic men and women in their early to mid-20s, police said.
Police said all the jewelry sold by the group is fake.
Victims should call the police. All Aurora solicitors are required to have permits.
