Watch Elgin preservation awards online Tuesday

Ten winners of Elgin's Mayor's Awards for Preservation will be honored Tuesday by the Elgin Heritage Commission.

The sold out event will be held at the Elgin Math And Science Academy's gymnasium. A livestream of the ceremony, which starts at 7 p.m., can be seen at youtube.com/cityofelgin.

Winners of the awards, which are given to recognize those who have preserved and promoted the heritage of Elgin, include Betsy Armistead, the Northeast Neighborhood Association; Chuck Crouse, Elgin History Museum's Museum Moments Video Project; Gail Borden Public Library Public Relations and Development team; Kerri Liu; Laurel Garza; Susan Bohne; Patrick Sakolari; and Rebecca Hunter, winner of the George Van de Voorde Outstanding Service Award.
