Algonquin school to host second annual 5K May 7

St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Algonquin is hosting its second annual 5K Run/Walk & Kids Dash on Saturday.

It will begin at 8 a.m. at the school, 119 S. Hubbard St.

Organizers are expecting between 200-300 participants, including school administration, teachers, and students and their families, as well as runners and friends from the community.

Cost is $10 for Kids Dash, $20 for virtual run, or $25 for timed 5K.

The goal is to raise $15,000 for the school's athletic department. Each participant will receive a timed 5K, T-shirt and goody bag. There will be a post-race party with food and coffee.
