Libertyville Girl Scout Cadette Makes a Difference

Madison Reichard of Libertyville, Il decided she wanted to make a difference. Madison earned the highest Girl Scout award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn, the Silver Award. Madison decided to draw attention to and help those in need whom you would not initially think needed help. Recognizing that people even in higher affluent areas may find themselves in need of help too, she worked with the community and was able to put together 40 back packs full of "extras" like stuffed animals, fluffy socks, coloring books and diaries. Madison donated these 40 stuffed back packs to a Libertyville area public grade school for those that may be on discounted lunch program. In addition, Madison created a video educating people on the needs of people in all socio-economic areas. Madison reminds us "You cannot always tell when someone needs help just by the way they look".
