Residents report attempted home invasion in Antioch

Someone tried to force open the front door of a house in Antioch while residents were inside Friday night, authorities said.

Residents reported loud noises at their front door shortly before midnight Friday in the 100 Block of Dana Court, according to the Antioch Police Department's Facebook page. When the Antioch police arrived, they found the front door had been forced open.

Police officers and a canine unit searched the residence and surrounding areas for suspects but didn't find anyone, the Facebook post said. Police searched overnight and continued to canvass the area this morning.

Police are continuing to investigate and are increasing patrols in the area, according to the Facebook post.

Anyone who lives in the Neuhaven Subdivision should check their exterior security camera for suspicious activity. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Antioch Police Department at 847-270-9111.
