Fort Wayne police seek public's help after shooting death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking the public for help in finding two men they say are suspects in the shooting death of a northeastern Indiana man.

Police say two teens found the man's body in a wooded area Thursday evening. The Allen County Coroner's Office identified him as William J. Kintzel, 63, of South Whitley. It said he died of gunshot wounds.

Kintzel was facing a two-day jury trial for cocaine possession starting May 10 in Allen Superior Court.

Police are asking residents of the area to review home video surveillance footage for information that might help in the investigation, which is being conducted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner's Office and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.

Neighborhood resident Misty Zent told WANE-TV that people are concerned, especially with so many kids playing outside.

'œI would have been devastated for my sons to see that,'ť she said.

'œIt's scary,'ť Zent said. 'œWhen scary things like this happen, it's very intimidating. It really brings it close to home.'ť
