Naperville Men's Glee Club will inspire with 'Hope Springs Eternal' on April 24
The Naperville Men's Glee Club (NMGC) will once again bring song and joy to the local community. The NMGC is hosting its spring concert, "Hope Springs Eternal," at the Community Christian "Yellow Box" Church in Naperville at 3 p.m. on April 24. After a few tough years of canceled and modified performances because of COVID-19, the four-part all male singing group is thrilled to once again be delighting audiences in Naperville. Hearing NMGC is a special treat for locals, as the group has an impressive performance history that includes appearances at Lincoln Center in New York City and Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
"The past two years have been challenging for everyone. Coming out of the pandemic, it is important to share a message of hope as the concert name implies," said Richard Ryan, marketing director for NMGC.
Attendees are sure to know and love many songs in the group's repertoire, including "This Little Light of Mine," "Pure Imagination," and "The Road Home." All songs performed have a hopeful and inspiring message and are meant to lift concertgoers' spirits following several difficult pandemic years. For a special treat, the Glee Club is thrilled to share the stage with special showcase partners, including The Thundertones, an a cappella ensemble of the Wheaton College Men's Glee Club; and West Towns Chorus, one of Chicago's premier men's barbershop choruses.
Despite setbacks and restrictions the last few years, NMGC continued to "bring harmony to life" by bringing music to the community in unique ways. Their 2021 concert was held in the church parking lot with great success and the group also hosted virtual choirs and concerts. No matter the circumstances, NMGC managed to perform and shine a light on the arts. Under the direction of Dr. John Rakes, NMGC's talent director, the group is building on each performance and taking their talents to new heights.
Longtime supporters like Gerald Nissan of Naperville make concerts such as "Hope Springs Eternal" possible. Ryan said that NMGC could not survive without their support and that NMGC is grateful for their loyalty and fundraising efforts year after year.
"Gerald has been a tremendous supporter of the Glee Club for many years. Thanks to their generous sponsorship and other community supporters, the Glee Club continues to have the opportunity to bring live music performances to our community," said Ryan.
As a passionate advocate of the arts and local programming, Gerald Nissan of Naperville is pleased to help sponsor concerts and other artistic endeavors for the people of Naperville and the surrounding areas to enjoy.
"We're delighted to support the Naperville Men's Glee Club and help bring their incredible performances to our customers and the community," said Deen Collins, a Partner of Gerald Auto Group.
