Lombard Scouts to host annual pancake breakfast May 1
A 55-year tradition will be returning Sunday, May 1, when Lombard Troop 140 and Pack 140 host their annual pancake breakfast. It will be 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 1, at St. Pius X Church Social Center, 601 S. Westmore Ave., Lombard.
This all-you-care-eat breakfast will include pancakes, sausages, ham, beverages, and gluten-free options.
Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Kids, age 5 and younger, are admitted free.
They are inviting the community to attend the breakfast in support of the Scout troops. This important fundraiser supports the Scouts throughout the year. As it was canceled last year, they are hoping to get a great turnout this year.
The Lombard Lilac Princess, who is earning an Eagle Scout, will be in attendance.
Lombard Troop 140, formed in 1966, is proud to have more than 100 Eagle Scouts to its credit. St. Pius X of Lombard is the charter organization. For 55 years, they have worked together to benefit the community of Lombard and Villa Park through various events and Eagle Scout projects. Troop 140 is committed to the traditional "scout run troop" philosophy of Scouts B.S.A., and is dedicated to developing leadership and life skills of young scouts from age 10 to 18. Pack 140 is the Cub Scout program for elementary school boys and girls, primarily from St. Pius X School in Lombard and Westmore Elementary School in Lombard. The program is a very active, with over 20 registered adult leaders, and many more volunteers. Pack 140 believes the quality of the program is direct result of the effort that is put into it, and the results of that effort are fun and adventure for all involved.
