Learn about history of Native Americans in DuPage April 20

On Wednesday, April 20, St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn welcomes the community to hear Joseph Standing Bear of Midwest SOARRING Foundation present history of Native Americans in our area, what land acknowledgement is, and the background of the Midwest SOARRING Foundation.

St. Mark's member Edna Heatherington is excited to welcome Joseph Standing Bear. "Learning about the land that St. Mark's occupies is a sacred responsibility and a way to grow respect for all people," Heatherington said.

The program will be offered online and in person from 7 to 8 p.m. on Zoom and at the church, 393 N. Main St.

The Midwest SOARRING Foundation is a nonprofit whose mission is to work toward repatriation, protect sacred sites, educate the public, and promote community building among all people regarding indigenous lifeways. There will be opportunities for questions and answers at the end of the presentation.
