Crash in Mundelein leaves man pinned under car

A driver was pinned under his vehicle after striking a tree early Monday in Mundelein, police said.

At 12:53 a.m., Mundelein police responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Route 45 and Walnut Street.

Authorities said the 36-year-old driver was traveling north on Route 45 when he left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was partially ejected and then pinned when the vehicle rolled.

After firefighters freed him, paramedics took the driver to Advocate Condell Medical Center. Authorities said he was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The crash remains under investigation.
