Hoffman Estates launches new rental assistance program

Daily Herald report

A new rental assistance program is now available for Hoffman Estates residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants up to $12,000 are available for moderate and low-income Hoffman Estates residents who are behind on rent. Residents may be eligible if they meet the following criteria: household income is at or below 80% the area median income; the rental unit is their primary residence; can provide proof of financial hardship due to COVID-19; and are currently behind on rent.

The program is sponsored by the village using federal coronavirus relief funds and is administered by the North West Housing Partnership, a nonprofit agency.
