Two hurt in three-vehicle crash in Mundelein

Two people were hurt Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer truck in Mundelein.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. at routes 45 and 83, on the village's south side.

A Buick Regal was headed south on Route 83 when it entered the intersection and collided with a northbound Nissan Altima, police said. The Altima then was pushed into the truck, which also was headed north, police said

The driver of the Altima had a head injury and the driver of the Regal complained of leg pain, police said. Both were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

No tickets were issued Monday afternoon as police investigated the crash.
