Two drivers injured in Lake Villa crash

Two drivers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Lake Villa.

At 5:45 p.m., Lake Villa Fire Protection District and Gurnee firefighters arrived at the intersection of Route 45 and Grand Avenue to find two severely damaged sedans, according to the Lake Villa Fire Protection District.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, and the roads were briefly shut down while authorities responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation
