A mayor's leadership

I reply to a recent letter titled "Village president's trying a power grab on health." While, also, living in Elk Grove Village for over three decades, I do agree with the writer when she admits to seeing "many positives in this village."

In addition, Mayor Johnson has led and was ahead of the times in which he governed. A good example was the early planning, development and completion of a new police station that came in under budget. He was criticized, only to see an adjacent larger town do the same thing a few years later.

Mayor Johnson has been available with an open-door policy for the concerns and needs of every resident, group, and business residing in this exceptional community. He has especially tried to keep politics out of health care while respecting the rights, liberties and freedoms of all.

Most people living in Elk Grove Village have benefited directly one way or another from Mayor Johnson's leadership and service to their community.
