Enjoy 3rd Thursdays Art Night Out series in Barrington

Barrington's White House welcomes back its 3rd Thursdays Art Night Out series with three inspiring artists this season.

The series kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, with Michael Ireland. The April 21 event will feature Marci Oleszkiewicz, followed on May 19 by Al Buschauer.

Watercolorist Michael Ireland is a nationally recognized artist and award-winning creative director and designer. His painting style and technique challenges the scale and format associated with traditional transparent watercolor, resulting in some of his recent works measuring more than 20 feet in length.

This process and approach has led to his artwork being placed in collections throughout the country. He is a member of the National Watercolor Society, Elmhurst Art Guild, and Illinois Watercolor Society.

Recently, one of his works, "Conifer," received the Helen Browne Memorial Award for watercolor at the 88th annual Juried Exhibition of the Hudson River Valley Art Association. His home and studio are in Cary.

On April 21, Barrington's White House presents Marci Oleszkiewicz's "Painting from the Heart." Her goal as an artist is to capture moments of life on canvas that convey beauty and wonder, joy and sorrow, love and truth. Courtesy of Barrington's White House

Artist and portrait photographer Al Buschauer has worked in Barrington for the past 33 years. In this exhibit, you will experience an array of work from travels to Africa to local images of stunning portraits and landscapes.

In addition to portrait photography, Buschauer utilizes the dramatic digital photography process of "light painting," where subjects are photographed in the dark using various LED flashlights and modifiers. Every section of the subject is photographed separately. Then, in postproduction, all the parts are layered and blended together using Photoshop.

In May, 3rd Thursdays Art Night Out presents "Al Buschauer: A Passionate Life in Photography." The Barrington-based artist and photographer will exhibit work from travels to Africa to local images of stunning portraits and landscapes. Courtesy of Barrington's White House
