Aurora man convicted of sexually assaulting child
A Kane County jury has found a 50-year-old Aurora man guilty of sexually assaulting a child.
Kane County State's Attorney Jamie Mosser said David M. Krawczyk, of the 700 block of South Eola Road, faces a minimum 48-year sentence.
Krawczyk was found guilty of eight counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, Mosser announced Thursday.
According to prosecutors, the assaults occurred between January 2016 and June 2017. The victim was younger than 13.
In addition to the prison term, Krawczyk must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
Krawczyk remains in custody at the Kane County jail, where he has been held in lieu of $250,000 bail. Kane County Judge David R. Kliment revoked bond upon conviction.
The Kane County Child Advocacy Center conducted the investigation.
Krawczyk's next court appearance is set for 1:30 p.m. May 18 for motions and sentencing.
