Algonquin woman pleads guilty to drug-induced homicide

A 29-year-old Algonquin woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for delivering drugs to a 48-year-old Algonquin man who died of an overdose in 2020.
McHenry County State's attorney Patrick D. Kenneally, announced that Thursday that Heather Vasil pleaded guilty to a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance before Judge Robert A. Wilbrandt.
On June 4, 2020, James Robles died from a heroin overdose.
An investigation into the death by the North Central Narcotics Task Force revealed that Vasil had given Robles the illegal narcotics. Vasil was subsequently arrested by Illinois State Police.
