Wonder Lake man charged with possession of child pornography

A Wonder Lake man was charged this week with 19 counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation, authorities said Thursday.

Members of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant for David M. Peters, 38, of the 5000 block of Willow Drive in Wonder Lake, on Tuesday.

A tip reported by an electronic service provider to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in November 2021 said a user possessed multiple files containing child pornography. That tip was later relayed to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
