What does Putin see in U.S.?
Why did Vladimir Putin invade Ukraine now? Was it the Duma that elected him president for life, only to follow him wherever it leads? Or was it his sworn lifelong allegiance as a KGB agent to dissemble and destroy NATO and resurrect the former glory of the USSR.?
Does he see a weakened, politically divided United States, with its former president still lauding his performance as head-of-state, with the prospect that the Democratic Party will lose control of government this year?
It's no coincidence Putin made an appearance at the Winter Olympics, to solidify China's support, a country that holds the mounting debt of the United States and remains our primary trading partner in the world.
Lincoln once said, "A nation divided, cannot stand." Have we returned to those four years when we killed each other, harvesting 700,000 deaths?
