Walker, Gillespie host blood drive March 8 in Arlington Heights

State Rep. Mark Walker and state Sen. Ann Gillespie will host a blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Heritage Park, 506 W. Victoria Lane in Arlington Heights.

"Every donation helps up to three lives, and our health care system really needs it," Walker, a Democrat from Arlington Heights, said in an announcement of the event. "Particularly during this pandemic, we would greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time to help out and donate."

Those who intend to donate are encouraged to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating. Masks are mandatory, and participants are asked to bring photo identification.

While walk-in donations will be accepted, residents should anticipate a greater wait time.
