Man struck by Metra train while walking along tracks

A man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a Metra train on the tracks north of Lake Forest's west side station.

At 1:40 p.m., an unidentified man was clipped on the shoulder by Milwaukee District North Train No. 2117 as he was walking along the tracks near Route 60, a Metra spokesman said.

The Lake Forest Fire Department took the man to the hospital. Authorities said the train began to move again at 2:40 p.m.
