DuPage County delivers $10.6 million to DuPage Foundation for new grant program

DuPage County delivered $10.6 million in federal relief funds to a Downers Grove-based foundation Tuesday to launch a new grant program.

County board members presented the DuPage Foundation with a giant check representing the investment of American Rescue Plan money in social services. The county board earlier this year approved an agreement with the foundation to administer a $10 million nonprofit grant initiative over the next five years.

The program, now known as the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership, will support nonprofit organizations that address food and housing insecurity, mental health and substance use issues.

"Together, we will transform the social service landscape, truly make a meaningful difference, and foster lasting change in the lives of people who participate," County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said.

Guidelines will be developed over the next few months, and an announcement about the application process is expected in the spring. The foundation will use $600,000 of the total sum it received from the county to pay for costs to manage the program.
