54th District residents show love to area seniors on Valentine's Day
State Rep. Tom Morrison is saying thank you to district residents who sent some love this Valentine's Day to local senior citizens.
"The outpouring of interest and involvement was overwhelming in the best way," Rep. Morrison said. "I am especially proud of how many young people stepped up to send a note to help bridge the generational divide."
Rep. Morrison's office collected nearly 2,000 Valentine's Day cards districtwide from students, families and residents. Rep. Morrison would like to especially thank Holy Family Academy, Christian Liberty Academy, St. Theresa School, Willow Bend School, the Rolling Meadows High School French Club, Immanuel Lutheran School, and the Barrington Middle School-Station Campus.
Rep. Morrison personally delivered valentines to senior living facilities, including Greencastle of Palatine and Solstice Senior Living.
"They really appreciated the effort that so many put in to make them feel seen and appreciated," he said. "It just goes to show that the little things can make a big difference. Kind gestures and kindness, no matter how small, matters."
