Six Flags increases pay, intends to hire 4,000 employees

Six Flags Great America plans to hire 4,000 employees for the 2022 season, including ride operators, lifeguards, and food and beverage workers at higher pay rates than last year.

Theme park managers will host four in-person hiring events on upcoming Saturdays, including March 5, March 19 and April 2. Each event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the park. Those interested are asked to bring their Social Security card and a current photo ID with proof of age or a school ID and birth certificate.

Last year, the minimum pay rate at the park was $11 per hour, and lifeguards' wages began at $12 per hour, This year, the minimum pay rate is $13 per hour. Lifeguards' wages will start at $14 per hour and ride operators' wages will be $13.50 per hour.
