Palatine asks residents to report coyote sightings
Palatine officials are asking residents to report coyote sightings on the Scientific Wildlife Management website, www.scientificwildlifemanagement.com/coyote-sightings/.
Village officials are working with an urban coyote specialist to address concerns about coyotes in residential areas.
Reports of sightings from residents will help the specialist better understand the village's coyote population and patterns.
Residents who have questions about the online reporting process can contact the Palatine Police Department at (847) 359-9000.
As coyotes are wild animals, residents should never actively seek out or search for them, officials said.
