A Schaumburg letter to the editor: Labeling candidates is bad way to run campaign

Jesse Sullivan has a TV ad for his governor's run that compares Illinois and Chicago to a war zone and lumps Lori Lightfoot and JB Pritzker into a collective "leftist socialist agenda." What is that supposed to mean?

As soon as you hear labels tossed out, be very wary. All this does is stir up fear and mistrust. We recently had Holocaust Remembrance Day. Do you remember the hatred the Nazis caused by applying labels on Jews and non-Aryans?

I can think of nothing worse than using such imagery just to try to win an election. The damage it does is far reaching, and we are still reeling from such ideations caused by Donald Trump and his followers.

Keep the labels out of it. Lets hear what concrete steps you plan to make to improve Illinois and stop this fear campaign. I will not fall for this and I hope you don't either.
