How local Olympians fared

Men's ski jumpingIn Friday's large hill qualifier, Casey Larson (Barrington) and Kevin Bickner (Wauconda) finished in the Top 50 and advanced to the final round.

Larson placed 43rd and Bickner was 45th.

Chicago's Patrick Gasienica missed the cut after finishing 53rd.

Women's hockeyIn Thursday night's late game, Team USA bounced back from a tough loss to Canada with a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic.

Hilary Knight (Lake Forest), Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove) and Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights) all scored goals and Knight and Schofield each had an assist.
