Turn hunger into hope this February with annual Feed the Need! ™ Community MobilePack™ Event

After a two-year hiatus from North Central College, the Feed the Need!™ (FTN) Community MobilePack™ event in support of Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is returning to the campus with the goal of "turning hunger into hope" on Feb. 19 and 20. Volunteers will be packing perfectly balanced and nutritious meals for children impacted by malnutrition around the world in the Res/Rec Center, which allows for a spaced-out, masked, and safe capacity event that will have a far-reaching impact. Food packed during the two-day event will be distributed by 15 missions and humanitarian organizations to children in 14 countries around the world.

Every year, this event makes a significant impact on FMSC and the individuals they serve. Whether you're donating time as a volunteer or contributing financially to fund meals, every bit helps improve the lives of children impacted by malnutrition. Just a few hours of time or a small donation during an event like this one can go a long way. For example, a $5 donation to FMSC can feed 21 meals to children in need and help FMSC reach their goal of feeding thousands of children each year. To date, nearly $70,000 has been raised through the Community MobilePack event. The goal is to raise $240,000 by the end of the event, enough to pack over 1 million meals for those in need.

"The FTN Leadership team is thankful for the caring volunteers from the surrounding communities, 30 faith partners and many businesses stepping up to help. We couldn't make this event happen without their continued support," said Bob Huebner, co-founder and business/civic group sponsor of the Feed the Need!™ Community MobilePack™.

Achieving the goal of funding so many meals requires a village - from MobilePack™ leaders to volunteers to generous corporate sponsors, including Gerald Cares. Gerald Cares has been a lead sponsor of the event for over a decade. Thanks to their support this year, volunteers will be able to pack 83,000 meals over the course of the two-day packing event.

"We look forward to supporting this event every year and seeing how the efforts of all involved truly make the world a better place," said Donna Lawler, Vice President of the Gerald Auto Group.
