Glencoe's Chicago Botanic Garden to Host Response for Teens Benefit

Response for Teens, part of JCFS Chicago's family of services, is celebrating 50 years of providing counseling, prevention programs, leadership activities, and sexual health education services to young people and their families in the Chicagoland area. In 1972, The Drug Response Program opened its doors in Rogers Park to meet the needs of adolescents in crisis through counseling, outreach, and medical assistance.

There will be special programming throughout the year to recognize this significant milestone, beginning with a 50th anniversary celebration at Response's annual fundraiser, Tuned In: The Larry Dobkin Event, held this year at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL on March 13th, 2022. This in-person event will honor Randee and Robert Romanoff for their long-time support of Response for Teens and their deep commitment to supporting our next generation.

Today, Response is a unique and innovative leader in helping young people develop the skills they need to deal with life's challenges and blossom into leaders in our community. By providing expert-level counseling and community education in a safe space, Response takes a holistic approach to service and works to meet the varied needs of tweens, teens, young adults, and their families.

Randee was born in St. Louis and has a bachelor's degree in both regular and special education from the University of Missouri as well as a master's degree in school counseling from National Louis University in Chicago. She has taught special education for over 25 years and is a member of The Jewish Women's Philanthropy Board at Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF) and Moriah Congregation in Deerfield.

Robert, a partner in Levenfeld Pearlstein's Trusts & Estate Practice group, has served as Chairman and Managing Partner since January 2013. In addition to his legal practice, Rob is president of Moriah Congregation, past chair of the Professional Advisory Committee at JUF, and serves as an advisor to several charitable organizations in Chicago. He is also a member of the Executives' Club of Chicago and a proud graduate of the renowned Wexner Heritage Foundation program for Jewish leaders.
