Palatine woman dies after Kildeer crash

A Palatine woman who was involved in an SUV crash Sunday in Kildeer died Monday night, according to the Lake County coroner's office.

Colleen O'Neill, 60, was heading south on Rand Sunday night before losing control of the SUV, authorities said.

According to authorities, O'Neill's SUV was found on its side about 6:10 p.m. after she crashed into a fence near Concorde Banquets on North Rand Road.

First responders had to cut O'Neill from the SUV, authorities said. O'Neil was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington.

Both directions of Rand Road were temporarily shut down after the accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
