Women's ice hockeyWith a tough game against Canada next up on the schedule, Team USA beat Switzerland 8-0, improving to 3-0 in the preliminary round.

Jesse Compher (Northbrook) and Hilary Knight (Lake Forest) sparked the lopsided win over Switzerland with 2 goals apiece.

Megan Bozek (Buffalo Grove) added 2 assists.

Men's speed skatingIn the 5,000 meters, which Sweden's Nils van der Poel won with an Olympic-record time of 6:08.84, Oak Park's Emery Lehman finished 16th with a time of 6:21.80 and Glen Ellyn's Ethan Cepuran was 17th at 6:25.97.
