Libertyville hosts open house Feb. 10 on Rockland Road bridge plan

An open house regarding the Rockland Road bridge over the Des Plaines River will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.

Libertyville and the Libertyville Township Road District are finalizing plans to rebuild the Rockland Road bridge. The open house is the second informational session on the proposed project.

The purpose of the project is to replace the bridge, which is in poor condition; elevate the bridge over the 100-year flood elevation; and improve pedestrian connections to the Des Plaines River Trail.

Visit the meetings and event calendar at libertyville.com for a brochure with proposal details.
