Most Cook County court business shifted online because of storm
Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans has allowed courts and related operations to proceed remotely because the winter storm Wednesday and Thursday.
Jury trials for cases scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday have been rescheduled for Friday, according to a news release.
Petitions for emergency restraining orders may be filed via email and will be heard remotely.
People who are unable to attend court proceedings due to a closed Zoom meeting will not face adverse legal consequences, the news release said.
All parties will be notified of new remote court dates by Feb. 18.
