Yes, it's wrong to let China host Olympics

AP writer Jim Litke is spot-on regarding the terrible decision by the IOC to hold the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing.

In addition to the compelling reasons Mr. Litke cited, China should be rejected for its role in unleashing the COVID pandemic on the world.

Chinese scientists who early on spoke out warning about COVID were ignored or punished; that is, imprisoned or "disappeared," by the Communist Chinese government.

The Xi government refused - and continues to refuse - to be transparent about the virus's origin and throughout the pandemic engaged in lies and cover-ups.

These unconscionable actions have resulted in deaths, economic havoc, and suffering worldwide. So, in addition to the myriad sins Mr. Litke noted, the Chinese government's handling of COVID should disqualify that nation from holding the games. Sadly, however, the games are really about money - not world understand, harmony, or even athletic prowess.
