Intimidation because of masks must stop

I am angry and saddened to read the St. Charles Public Library is closed to in-person visits due to threatening emails and phone calls directed at the library staff with regards to the face mask policy.

These actions are unacceptable. I realize people are tired of wearing masks, social distancing, etc., due to the pandemic. This is no excuse for anyone to threaten another person.

The basis for the mask mandate is to protect others, to be considerate of other people. What happened to being kind and thoughtful to others? What kind of example is this for the younger generations? Have people become this self-centered that they have no regard for others? This is a wake-up call.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Think about how your actions affect others.

Think about how you present yourself to the world.

Take a step back and think about morals and values.

This violence and disregard for other people must stop now.
