Dr. Neil Singh to serve as inaugural New Dentist Board Director of the Chicago Dental Society

Dr. Neil Singh, D.M.D., of Chicago, Illinois, was sworn in as the inaugural New Dentist Board Director of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) on November 14. Dr. Singh, founder of Axis Endodontics, served as the Englewood Branch President in 2020-21 and previously served in multiple leadership positions within the Englewood Branch.

As the New Dentist Board Director, Dr. Singh will serve one year as a representative and liaison between early career dentists and the CDS Board of Directors. In his new role, Dr. Singh hopes to guide new dentists as they build their career and help them learn about the opportunities available through a CDS membership. As a new dentist who worked as an associate and launched his own specialty practice, Dr. Singh leveraged the tools of organized dentistry to help him and his team weather the pandemic and wants to ensure all new dentists are able to chase any opportunity and face any adversity with the same success. During Board meetings, Dr. Singh will be a critical voice to provide the perspective of and advocate for new dentists when decisions about the organization, member benefits and events are being considered.

Dr. Singh will also assist with the planning and promotion of the 157th and 158th Midwinter Meeting to encourage new dentists to take advantage of the benefits of attending one of the dental industry's premier events. The 157th Midwinter Meeting, "A Dental Tradition," will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago, Feb. 24-26, 2022. The 2022 event will be back in person after a virtual experience in 2021 and will offer attendees access to courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live exhibits and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends.

Dr. Singh holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Miami and earned his dental degree with a certificate in endodontics from Nova Southeastern University's College of Dental Medicine. In addition to his leadership roles with CDS, Dr. Singh has served as the Specialty Director and Class Representative for Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and Dental Mission Trip Team Leader. Dr. Singh is also a member of the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), the American Dental Association (ADA) and American Association of Endodontics and was a member of the Pre-Dental Society, American Student Dental Association and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

Dr. Singh lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife, Reena, and two children, Sienna and Tyler. In his free time, Dr. Singh loves to spend time outdoors and exploring all Chicago has to offer and enjoys cooking, exercising, sports and art.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
