Waukegan woman identified as pedestrian killed in North Chicago crash

A Waukegan resident has been identified as the woman who died after being hit by a car early Saturday morning in North Chicago.

Alyssa Charles, 24, was struck by a vehicle on the 1500 block of Lincoln Street in North Chicago at 2:19 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release Thursday from the Lake County coroner's office.

Charles was taken to Vista East Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The crash is still under investigation.
