Mitutoyo America Corp. improves measuring system

AURORA - Mitutoyo America Corp. said it has released an improved version of its metrology software suite for coordinate measuring machines.

Its MCOSMOS metrology software is a standard used by engineers throughout the world and the company offers support in 37 locations and in 12 different languages, Mitutoyo said.

Key features and capabilities include new graphical user interface and optimization for large computer-assisted design files, which lowers process time. It also adds 3-D display of the geometry and microstructure of technical surfaces, including visualization of tolerance zones, providing operators with a more detailed overview of their workpiece. This is especially handy when operators are utilizing noncontact measurement methods, the company said.
