Wynnchurch Capital invests in mattress company

ROSEMONT - Wynnchurch Capital L.P., a middle-market private equity firm, said it has made a strategic, growth investment in Mattress Warehouse LLC, a mattress store chain with more than 300 locations.

Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Joining the board of Mattress Warehouse will be Wynnchurch's Russ Gehrett, partner, and Mike MacKay, vice president.

The mattress store chain, founded in 1989, is based in Fredrick, Maryland.

"The company's unique heritage as a family-oriented and founder-run business is truly differentiating in today's world," Gehrett said. "This investment is another example of Wynnchurch's ability to identify and execute on unique opportunities in the consumer space."
