Fines for illegal truck parking increase in Des Plaines

Fines for parking semitrailer truck cabs overnight on public streets in Des Plaines have increased.

The city council approved the change this week. It was prompted by increased violations and complaints, officials said.

The fine had been $31 per violation. Now, the fine will be $100 for a first violation and $250 for subsequent violations.
