Kane County Health Department to hold vaccine clinic for adults in Dundee area Jan. 9

The Kane County Health Department and Illinois Department of Public Health will hold a COVID-19 vaccination walk-in clinic on Sunday, Jan. 9.

It will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Spring Hill Mall (Carpentersville), 1072 Spring Hill Mall Drive in West Dundee. The clinic was previously announced to begin at 9 a.m.

The clinic will be held in the old Payless shoe store near the Kohl's entrance. No appointment is necessary, but the public can pre-register for an appointment at KaneVax.org.

All three COVID vaccines, Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen, will be available for adults 18 and older. To speed the check-in process for booster shots, make sure to bring your vaccination card. People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.

The Centers for Disease Control allows for the mixing and matching of the type of vaccine for booster shots.

Individuals over 18 who received the Janssen primary dose may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty 2 months after their primary dose.

Individuals over 18 who received the Moderna primary series may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty 6 months after their last dose.

Individuals over 18 who received the Pfizer/Comirnaty primary series may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty 5 months after their last dose.

The Kane County Health Department has identified more than 90 Kane County community partners that also provide COVID-19 vaccine.

Businesses and community organizations can request a vaccination clinic at their site through the Illinois Department of Public Health at dph.illinois.gov/covid19/vaccinationclinics.html.
