Hoffman Estates death investigation awaiting toxicology results

Hoffman Estates police and the Cook County medical examiner's office are awaiting the results of toxicology tests before determining the cause and manner of death of a 44-year-old Arlington Heights woman found unresponsive and not breathing Tuesday afternoon.

Hoffman Estates Police Sgt. John Bending said no signs of foul play were immediately observed by officers and paramedics who responded to the call at about 2:50 p.m. on the 1200 block of West Dexter Lane.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology results can take as long as five months, Bending said.
