Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry hands out 400 filled Christmas stockings

Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry staffers and volunteers distributed 400 stuffed holiday stockings in a drive-through giveaway Wednesday, Dec. 22.

Stockings were filled with candy, toys, socks, Advent calendars and other children's items said Rebecca Dunnigan, pantry community outreach and program coordinator.

Volunteers included Jeff Beallis of Aurora as Santa and congregants of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora.

Families were limited to two stockings each.

Pre-registration was required and the event was "sold out" in advance.
