Cook County, Elk Grove partnering on bike path addition

The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways and Elk Grove Village are partnering to begin work associated with a $500,000 2021 Invest in Cook award for construction and construction engineering of the Meacham Road bike path.

The project will add a mile of multiuse path near the I-390 exit ramp and Biesterfield Road. The 8-foot-wide path will replace an existing 5-foot-wide sidewalk to serve both pedestrians and bicyclists.

The work also will create an additional connection to Busse Woods, officials said.
