Real estate firm donates $5,000 to area food pantry

Dermody Properties, a national private equity real estate investment, development and management company focused exclusively on the logistics real estate sector, has announced the recipients of its annual Dermody Properties Thanksgiving Capstone Award.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori Food Pantry, which seeks to provide food to families needing assistance living in Prospect Heights, Wheeling and Mount Prospect, received $5,000 to assist in ensuring these communities have access to an adequate and nutritious source of food.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori Food Pantry is an entity of the Saint Alphonsus Liguori Parish, which prides itself in being an involved, welcoming and caring Catholic community dedicated to service.

Every year, senior management at Dermody Properties selects the recipients for the annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award, with the overall goal of helping nonprofit organizations address the increased need experienced during the holidays.

This year, partner and Chief Investment Officer Timothy Walsh specifically designated Saint Alphonsus Liguori Food Pantry as a recipient.

"Food insecurity is a very unfortunate but real problem in our community," said Walsh. "We feel incredibly humbled to be able to support Saint Alphonsus Liguori Food Pantry, so that the organization can provide assistance to even more people and families experiencing hardship."

The Dermody Properties Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award is uniquely directed each year by the executive management committee of Dermody Properties, which includes Chairman and CEO Michael Dermody; President Douglas A. Kiersey, Jr.; partner and Chief Capital Officer Kathleen Briscoe; Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Kauchak; Chief Financial Officer Douglas Lanning; and partner and Chief Investment Officer Timothy Walsh.

"Every year, the Thanksgiving Capstone Award allows our company to help organizations who are truly making a difference in the lives of people in need," said Dermody.

"We are pleased to support Saint Alphonsus Liguori Food Pantry, and recognize their efforts to fight hunger and food insecurity among our most vulnerable populations at a time when they need it most."

Dermody Properties has selected six additional recipient organizations across the country. For information, visit www.Dermody.com.
