Good luck on tourism

The city of Chicago is seeking to fill the position of director of tourism. I don't know what the salary would be, but filling that role will be a daunting task.

First of all, if you travel to town from one of the states on the restricted states list, you'll have to quarantine for a week or so.

You arrive you might be renting a car to drive into the city. Hopefully no one will take a shot at you on the Kennedy.

Now you get downtown and check into one of the many fine hotels. You get settled in and go for a walk around. With any luck, no groups will be out looting stores or even that luxury car dealership in Streeterville.

You might want to avoid any heavy duty shopping for fear that shopping bags from Nieman-Marcus or Macy's will be stolen out of your hands just because you have something, anything a roving gang member wants.

Yes, luring tourists to Chicago will be a task that should pay very well considering the many obstacles facing this new hire. I wish this fate on no one. Good luck filling the job.
