Bartlett man charged with trespassing, attacking officers
A Bartlett man has been charged with trespassing at two residences in the village and then attacking police officers in a jail cell.
Robert C. Clark, 38, of Bartlett, was charged with both a felony and a misdemeanor for criminal trespass to a residence, as well as misdemeanors for battery and aggravated assault, authorities said.
About 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Bartlett police were called to a residence on Taylor Avenue that the homeowner alleged Clark had entered without permission while the family was sleeping. Then, at 11:40 p.m., another homeowner on Taylor Avenue reported that Clark had entered without permission.
About 7 p.m. Thursday, while officers were conducting a cell inspection, Clark charged and lunged at several of them, police said. They also accused him of pushing one of the officers against the wall of the cell.
On Friday, Clark's bail was set at $10,000. He must post $1,000 to be released pending trial. His next court date is Jan. 12.
