Backward times on crime, economy
The United States over the past two years has turned upside down. What should be, clearly is not. There are too many instances, but I will give only three examples.
First, inflation is savaging us all. Yet, the assertion that Build Back Better will lessen inflation is ludicrous. Historically, inflation has never been tamed by spending gargantuan sums of money. All past Congresses have appropriated money in the billions during those times as part of their overall budget process, yet inflation was never alone tamed by those sums that were spent.
Secondly, it is well documented that veterans" access to care via the Veterans Affairs is absent given anecdotal evidence. Furthermore, we find that the VA has obstructed access to community care, which is mandated by law, when the VA cannot manage to provide it on a timely basis. This is tragic.
Finally, there is unabated crime that is unmistakably sanctioned by a political establishment. One cannot reasonably conclude otherwise, as it is clearly the message given the absence of efforts to quell its rise.
And this is in tandem with progressive efforts to defund police, administer close to zero bail, risking life and limb and more pointedly, absence of any leadership from the White House decrying the tsunami wave of crime. The overriding function of government is to keep its citizenry safe. Our "leaders" are AWOL from the bully pulpit.
And the White House has the audacious gall to attribute spiraling crime to COVID, as if stealing Louis Vuitton designer purses or "smash and grab" has its genesis from a virus. It's long overdue for this failed administration to get real.
We are in an upside down age that will have devastating consequences if the voting public permits it to continue.
